It's solid and fun and I'm enjoying it a lot.īoth games have depth and flexibility to their mechanics, and give you a lot of freedom, but in Aragami, it was more limited freedom in terms of gameplay styles. It doesn't feel like Aragami did, but it doesn't feel like it's just a clone of any other game out there either. It would have needed to be designed very differently to cater to the mechanics of the first game. The first game definitely didn't feel linear or lacking in options to me.Īs a fan of the original who's quickly becoming a fan of the sequel, I think this system is part of what makes this game good at what it does. Elsewhere they're saying the removal of this mechanic converts the game from a linear affair with little to no freedom into a sandbox environment that lets you play how you like. It's weird how people are drawing completely opposite conclusions from the same change. Originally posted by XLbuff:Well, this kills the depth and atmosphere of the first game for me then. If you havent played one and are five years old, or have a pension for ninjas cause you're a weeb you probably will like it, but 1 squats on this mess anyday of the week. The shadow mechanics are almost completely gone, and they gave us a blink/teleport (hooray) The graphics got muddied and the AI is just as dumb if not more braindead than in 1. You can tell in almost every function of the game that is rushed as Start with the maps themselves, do you see little broken bottles scattered around? do you see busted walls or cluttered vegetation anywhere? There is overall less care in the design of the game. I would not be surprised if they sat down at the beginning of this year and said lets make a 2.

The fact that it shipped without keybinding customization is a testament to the sh1ttyness of the game. Originally posted by Mesarthim:I can agree and I can't blame any refund, I'm enjoying aragami 2 but there's nothing left of aragami 1 in there. They didn't even release it with a keybind system and the loved editor of the 1st one.įor me it's a sign that they released it in a hurry or maybe were forced to. Maybe the pandemic did hurt them too much. Maybe they should have kept quite another year to prevent fans of the 1st to go crazy and only release it by then. I'm not going to ask for a refund and I'm going to enjoy aragami 2 for what it is but I'm definitely not happy about what they did. You can use your powers everywhere and you don't need to look for shadows to recharge your powers, lights don't drain them either.Īnd seriously, the jump is more cumbersome than the teleportation system of the 1st game. Now I feel like I'm playing some kind of dishonored. Now they've gone with something mainstream and it's not very original anymore. The light/shadow concept of the 1st game was it's selling point and a big part of it's originality.

The cool teleportation system is gone, you can't even improve the teleportation it seems. I can agree and I can't blame any refund, I'm enjoying aragami 2 but there's nothing left of aragami 1 in there.
